Easiest Way to Get More Google Reviews for Free:

Have you ever noticed how much easier it is to get something done when it’s right in front of you?

That’s exactly why this week’s tip is going to make asking for customer reviews easier than ever—and more effective, too.

Let’s talk about using QR codes to get more Google reviews.

This Week’s Plan:

Create a QR code that takes customers straight to your Google review page.

Then, use it where it matters most:

  • Print it on invoices and receipts.

  • Add it to your business cards.

  • Save it to your phone so you can show it to customers on the spot after the sale.

  • Make a sign and set it at your checkout counter.

Why it Works:

Timing and simplicity are key.

  • 20% of people say they were not prompted to leave a review in the past 12 months. But 19% of people that were asked left a review every time. And 26% left a review more than half the time they were asked. So if you aren't asking, you're missing out on a ton of reviews! (Source: BrightLocal)

  • QR codes make it effortless—customers just scan and go directly to your Google review page.

  • Simplifying the process removes friction, so there’s no "I’ll do it later" excuse.

How it Works:

Imagine this:

You’ve just completed a job or made a sale. The customer is happy and singing your praises.

Instead of hoping they’ll remember to leave a review later, you pull out your phone or hand them a business card with a QR code.

“Hey, I’d love your feedback. Just scan this, and it’ll take you right to my Google review page. It only takes a minute!”

Most people will happily oblige because you’ve made it dead simple for them.

This works so well because you’re catching them in the moment, while their excitement is fresh and you’re still top of mind.

The Action:

Do this now before you forget:

  • Create Your QR Code:
Use Canva (or any QR code generator) to create a QR code that links directly to your Google review page.

I just made a video yesterday showing you exactly how to get your review link and create the QR code. It's only 6 minutes long:

  • Use It Strategically:

    • Print it on receipts, invoices, and business cards.

    • Save it as an image on your phone for easy sharing. Or make it your phone background.

    • Stick it on a small sign at your checkout counter or service desk.

  • Ask for Reviews in the Moment:
When the job is done, say:
“If you’re happy with my work, I’d really appreciate a quick review. Just scan this—it only takes a second!”

Why This Matters:

Google reviews are one of the most powerful tools for building trust and attracting new customers.

  • Businesses with 4+ star ratings attract nearly 3x more customers than those with a 3 star rating. (Source: BrightLocal)

  • 50% of customers trust online reviews as much as personal recommendations. (Source: BrightLocal)

  • Consistently asking for reviews helps you outpace competitors who aren’t proactive.

Take a few minutes this week to set up your review QR code—it’s a small step that will have a big impact.
