How to get more Google reviews

Ever feel like you’re doing everything right, but still can’t get the reviews you deserve?

You’re working hard, providing great service, and your customers love what you do. But when it comes to getting Google reviews, it’s like pulling teeth.

You ask, they say “Sure!”… and then… crickets.

I’ve been there too.

But here's the secret: It’s not about asking more, it’s about making it easy.

So let's make it as easy as possible:

First you're going to need to go grab your reviews link (it's in your google business settings - let me know if you need help finding it).

This link will bring customers straight to the review popup. Makes it as easy as possible for them.

Then you're going to need to use that link to your advantage:

  • Create a Custom QR Code: You can literally hand your customers a QR code that leads directly to your Google review page. It's that easy. They scan, leave a review, and you’re done.

  • Automate review requests: Set up Zapier (or a similar tool) to automatically send a review request right after the job is done. Your customer is happy, and this is the moment they’re most likely to leave a glowing review. No manual follow-ups needed. It all happens on autopilot.

This alone will help you get more reviews. But you can also include incentives for your customers to get even more reviews (be careful not to go against google's terms of service though)

My personal method is to donate a meal to Feeding America for every review I or a customer of mine receives. This has been working amazingly well.

That's it. Now you're getting a ton more reviews! But we're not done yet...

Now you can use these reviews to your advantage to boost online rankings. Which means more views, more calls, and MORE CUSTOMERS!

Here's how:

Respond to every review. Whether it’s a 1 star or 5 star review, responding to reviews is a huge trust booster.

It also shows Google that you care. And Google loves engagement. Which means Google will show your business to more people.

Plus, it gives you the chance to publicly show off your customer service. Which shows potential customers that you care.

Next, you'll want to showcase your 5 star reviews.

Post them to your website and social media. The more you show your happy customers, the more other people will trust you. Simple as that.

That's the gist of it.

But why so much info about reviews?

Well, Google uses reviews as a major ranking factor. More reviews mean better ranking, and better ranking means:

  • More search results for your business

  • More website visits

  • More calls

  • More customers

Many businesses spend thousands of dollars per month on fancy SEO tactics, beautiful websites, and more. But they overlook something as simple as getting more reviews. Which in turn help with SEO and some of the other stuff they're willing to pay extra for.
