LOCAL BUSINESS SHOCKED: Gold Mine Found in Old Contact List
Vol.02 No.02
Originally sent Thursday 09 January 2025
Ever notice how dating is WAY harder than hanging out with someone you're already with?
(Stay with me here...)
Same thing happens in business.
We spend countless hours chasing new customers when our "sure thing" is sitting right there in our contact list.
Think about it: These folks already know you. They trust you. They've given you money before.
And here's the kicker: It costs about 5-7x more to attract a new customer than to keep an existing one.
But Taylor, I don't have a subscription service...
Doesn't matter! Here's why...
This Week’s Plan:
Start treating your past customers like the goldmine they are.
Here's the deal: Whether you're chasing down unpaid invoices or drumming up new business, your existing customers are your fastest path to cash.
And unlike that awkward first date small talk, you already know what makes them tick.
Why it Works:
Remember that whole "know, like, and trust" thing everyone talks about?
Your past customers have already checked all those boxes. They're basically sitting there waiting for you to make the next move.
Plus, happy customers tend to spend 31% more than new ones. (Yeah, that's a real stat. Wild, right?)
How it Works:
Let's break this down by business type:
Service Business? Easy mode.
Reach out about booking their next appointment, maintenance check, or seasonal service.
One-time Products? Here's where it gets fun:
Offer complementary products they might need (cross-sell)
Create a VIP customer discount program
Share exclusive "past customer only" deals
Ask for referrals (they already like you, remember?)
Project-Based Business? Think:
Annual reviews or check-ins
Upgrades or maintenance packages
Related services they might need
The Action:
Pull up your customer list (yes, right now)
Pick 5 past customers you haven't talked to in a while
Send them this simple message:
"Hey [name], just checking in! Wanted to see how everything's going since [last service/purchase]. Got any questions or need any help?"
That's it. No fancy pitch. No hard sell.
Just show them you remember them and care about their success.
Why This Matters:
Listen, getting new customers is great. But ignoring your existing ones? That's like constantly swiping on dating apps while sitting next to your wife on the couch.
Don't be that business.
Talk soon,
Taylor Coffin
P.S. Don't forget to grab your free QuickReview code. It’s a great way to get more reviews. More reviews mean that even new customers start to like and trust you before you even talk to them.
I'll send you a digital copy as well as a physical QR card in the mail. Just fill out this quick form and I'll get started on it for you.
