Vol.01 No.01

Originally sent Thanksgiving Day 2024 | Thursday 28 November 2024

Happy Thanksgiving!

I’ve got a little present for you today.

Something simple, actionable, and perfect for setting your business up for a strong start next week (or whenever you’re ready to dive back in after the long weekend).

(And no, it’s not the Local Visibility Trifecta I’ve been bugging you about lately—haha.)

But first, let me officially welcome you to the very first issue of the BizBoost Weekly™ newsletter!

My goal?
"One small action per week, one giant leap for your business."

What to Expect:
Every Thursday morning at 11am CT, I’ll send you a simple, actionable 4-part newsletter:

  1. The Plan: One simple tip you can implement immediately.

  2. Why it Works: Proof and stats of just how powerful the plan is.

  3. How it Works: A real-world example of the plan in action creating real results for real people.

  4. The Action: Clear steps to make implementing the plan as easy as possible—so you can go make money as quickly as possible.

And maybe a funny meme or gif—because why not?

I might shake things up in future issues, but for now, that’s the plan.

OR... if you don't like this format, by all means let me know. I want you to actually read this. Because it will be super useful. So please let me know if you don't like this format. Or let me know if you DO like this format.

Now, let’s get to the good stuff…

This Week’s Plan:

Take 30 minutes this weekend to create a simple Follow-Up Plan for your customers and leads.

Why it Works:

  • Did you know that 80% of sales are made after 5 or more follow-ups, yet most small businesses give up after just one or two?

  • Following up consistently keeps you top-of-mind and builds trust, turning "maybe later" leads into loyal customers.

  • Businesses that actively follow up with their leads can boost sales by up to 50%.

How it Works (A Real Example):

Think of it like reconnecting with an old friend from high school.

You haven't talked in years, but when you finally reach out, it's like no time has passed. You pick up right where you left off. The conversation flows, memories resurface, and the connection is rekindled.

Similarly, your leads aren't ignoring you because they dislike you. Life gets busy, emails get buried, and priorities shift. Sometimes, all it takes is a simple nudge to bring you back to their attention.

Marketing expert Dean Jackson realized this when he crafted the famous "9-word email":

Subject Line: Quick question
Body:
"Hi [First Name],
Are you still interested in [specific product/service]?"

This straightforward message has helped countless businesses re-engage cold leads and revive stalled conversations. Dean built an entire business around this concept, proving that sometimes the simplest approach is the most effective.

The Action:
Here’s exactly what to do this weekend:

  1. Make a List:

Open your CRM (or wherever you track leads/customers). Write down the names of:

    • People you’ve spoken to but haven’t closed. Whether they got an estimate or are just tire kickers.

    • Customers you haven’t reached out to in a while.

  2. Send This Simple Email:

    Subject Line: Quick question

    Body:

    "Hi [First Name],

Are you still interested in [specific product/service they inquired about before but didn't purchase]?"

    - [Your Name]

Seriously, it's that simple. This email style is called the "9-word email" by Dean Jackson. You'll be surprised at how well this works.

  3. Schedule Follow-Ups for Next Week:

    • Block out 15 minutes a day to send follow-ups to 3–5 people.

    • Or use automation tools to send them for you (this saves a ton of time).

Why This Matters:

The key is consistency. Most sales don’t happen on the first attempt—or even the second (5+, remember?). If you commit to following up regularly, you’ll start seeing results faster than you think.

If you’re not following up, you’re missing out on customers who were this close to saying yes. Plus, it takes way less effort to win back a warm lead than to find a brand-new one.

Take 30 minutes this weekend to set up your follow-up plan. Reply to let me know how it goes—I’d love to hear about your wins!
